Financial Management In The Home (3)
You are welcome, this week, to another exciting time in the presence of the Lord. My focus is still on Financial Management In The Home. Last week, I unveiled Giving to each other and giving to God. This week, I shall be sharing with you more avenues of giving.
Giving To The Poor
One great secret that Job got among other things was that God told him, "If you look after the poor, I will ensure that you are not among the poor." In the days of his youth, he contacted this secret by which he became the greatest man in the east. The Word of God says: As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle … When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil … Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him. The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. (Job. 29:4-13).
You must be generous to the poor and underprivileged, those who do not have as much as you have. God loves the merciful and releases blessings upon him. The Bible says: He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse (Proverbs 28:27).
Jesus never lacked nor begged. From John 13:29, we can see that He was also a blessing to the poor. When you reach out to bless the poor, God ensures that you do not lack. Anyone who pretends not to know those who are in need, is selfish and will incur a curse upon himself. To look away from the poor, is asking God to look away from you. Job made it by ministering to the poor, and he never lost out, because his latter end, the Bible tells us, was several times better than the previous.
Cornelius was a man given to almsgiving. One day, God visited him and blessed him with salvation. You, too, can register in God's book of remembrance, by being open and generous. Women can emulate the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31.
Giving To Men Of God
As couples, you must provoke each other to do right things. Sowing to the men of God placed over us, is right and provokes great blessings from the Lord. God is glorified, when you handle your money this way.
Money is actually limited in value, except it is placed in the hands of God. It has wings. If you don't send it on errand, someday it will take up wings and fly away by itself. Proverbs 23:5 says: Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
Money is a god; it seeks to be worshipped. That is why Matthew 6:24 says you cannot serve God and mammon. "Mammon" means money. It is a good servant but a terrible master; don't allow its absence to determine the atmosphere of your home. There are some people, once they are angry, you know there is no money in their pocket. Don't let it destroy the peace and joy in your home.
Some serve money and give it the place that only God should occupy in their lives. But when you dispose of your money in the above listed ways, you are serving God with it, and is an evidence of your love for Him and your liberality. Money then cannot be your god.
However, you worship money, when you clutch on to it, refusing to disperse it, and gathering it for selfish purposes. Those who run after money are running after sorrow. My husband often says, "If you run after money you will mourn." So, run after God, and money will run after you. Whatever comes your way financially, learn to put God first, separating the first fruits of harvest unto Him.
The grace to see the needs of the poor and plug into it can only be released when you are born again. If you are ready to be born again, please say this simple prayer with me, in faith: Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me. Now I know I am born again.
Congratulations, you are now born again! I believe that you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary. All round rest and peace are guaranteed you in Jesus' Name!
